Oh the joys of being a nurse! Day two of three started. I do love my job and the people I work with are great. How many people get to say that. Looking forward to my days off, though. I have several projects that I found on Pinterest that I want to complete! Some new uses for flower pots from the front porch and of course some new recipes!

Here is one of my favorite things to share right now!

Thinking of trying this this weekend for the guest bath.

Stacked & glued flower pots for keys, etc @ entry or jewelry in the bedroom...love the distressed finish.

Well good morning!

My wonderful four legged child awakened me at 6am. On a Saturday morning, no less! So I went ahead and  put together some baked beans that we will smoke later today at our cookout.

3 28oz cans of Bush's Country Style Baked Beans

1 each of green, yellow, and red bell peppers

1 onion

1 pound Jimmy Dean Sausage (can be mild or hot) depending on your tastes

1 package Oscar Myer Bacon Pieces

1 tbsp Karo Syrup

1/4 c Brown Sugar

2 tbsp Worschester Sauce

Texas Pete (remember, I am from the South, so I will put Texas Pete on ANYTHING)

Beer (optional, but I love the flavor it gives. I use Bud Light when cooking, simply because that is what is in the fridge for Hubby.)

You can also add crushed red pepper  and jalepenos for flavor, but I didn't because of a varied crowd and didn't want them to be too hot for some people.

Dice peppers and onions and saute in a little Safflower oil. Put in a large pot and set aside.

Brown sausage and add to peppers and onions.

Add Baked Beans to the sausage, peppers and onions. Add bacon pieces, brown sugar, Karo syrup, Worschester Sauce and Texas Pete to taste. Add a little beer here if you like it! Add a little and drink the rest. However, it was a little early in the am for me to finish it off!

Mix together and smoke or bake for 45 minutes.

Well, here I am. I have been wanting an outlet to share and low and behold, I found one! Maybe I should apologize that you have found my blog. Hope you enjoy it or find something you like. I am having a get together tomorrow at my house. I am going to try a couple new recipies. So I will post them here tomorrow. Thinking of some new twists on baked beans and potato salad.
